Health and safety
Carr-Gomm aims to provide a safe and healthy working and living environment for its staff, clients and visitors. Everyone involved with Carr-Gomm wants and needs to be safe and has a right to expect that this safe and healthy environment will be provided.
We have a team of professional health and safety staff who provide advice and expertise on health and safety matters to our staff and clients and whose role is to promote health and safety awareness and good practice throughout the organisation.
The health and safety staff are also responsible for undertaking regular audits within all our workplaces, as well as within each Carr-Gomm Project. Risk assessment and risk management is very much a part of what we do and our staff at all levels, as well as our clients, have an involvement in this process.
Support staff who work with the clients attend regular training on health and safety issues, enabling them to create a safe environment, spot potential hazards and help make clients more aware of their actions.
Reporting systems track all aspects of our health and safety work, including monitoring how effectively potential hazards are dealt with. Our regular in-house auditing processes - together with the work done by our health and safety committee - allow us to monitor how effective our policies and procedures are.
