Kent and Medway online mental health resource launched
People living in Kent and Medway are to benefit from a new online resource that provides information and tools that will help people achieve improvemd mental wellbeing and take control of their mental health.
Signpost Kent's easy-to-use website offers:
- ideas and tips on how to maintain and improve mental wellbeing
- information on mental health issues and what can help
- details of how the mental health system works and the range of mental health services available to provide support
- stories of recovery, free access to the Recovery Star and a link through to the free Living Life of the Full life skills resources
- help with issues relating to mental health and the workplace
Project Director, Jo Woollet, said: “For some people finding information or seeking help can be a minefield. Signpost Kent's website is designed to make it easier for people to find help by putting information at their fingertips on a range of issues surrounding mental health and wellbeing.”
In addition to the website, people can call the Kent and Medway helpline on 0800 107 0160. This service is free and available between 5pm-9am Monday to Friday and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays.
Plans are underway to develop the website further to include a section for carers and information targeted specifically at younger people and older people.
Signpost Kent is a joint venture between Carr-Gomm, Mental Health Matters and mcch, funded by a Department of Health Section 64 grant.
