Ex-offenders
Coming out of prison and making a new start is particularly hard for people with mental health problems.
There is a shortage of suitable housing for these ex-offenders, and without the right support to find a job or flat they often end up homeless or back in prison.
Example:
Carr-Gomm has set up a new service in Ealing, West London to help plug this gap. Working with the local authority and the Probation Service, Carr-Gomm supports 18 clients living in a variety of housing including private accommodation. This service has proved a real success in helping people to integrate back into the community and to maintain their tenancies.
