People strategy
The aim of our people strategy is to ensure that people who work for Carr-Gomm have the skills, motivation, and capacity to deliver the right sort of high quality support which enables our clients to achieve the control over their lives and their valued futures.
The strategy supports the Carr-Gomm business plan, through delivering the objective: Skills: maintaining and improving the skills of our staff and board.
Over the next two years, the main objectives of the people strategy are to:
- Introduce a new and rigorous training programme
- Retain the Investors in People award, planning for continuous improvement
- Improve recruitment policy and practices, drawing on the outcome of the Best Value review carried out by Carr-Gomm staff, clients and board members.
- Listen to the voice of our staff members, through a staff opinion survey and improved relationships with the recognised trade union.
The effects of the strategy will be evaluated through measuring various outputs and outcomes, including:
- The implementation of new training programmes
- New recruitment procedures
- The retention of Investors in People accreditation
- Increased staff satisfaction and retention rates
- Reduced staff absence levels and sickness
- Benchmarking against similar organisations
